Richter reaches the U21 Euro final with Germany

FCA winger Marco Richter has reached the final of the U21 Euros with Germany after a 4-2 win over Romania in Bologna. Things weren’t looking as positive at half time for the U21s, despite Nadiem Amiri giving them the lead (17’). Romania were able to score twice through Puscas – his first coming from the spot, which was the fourth penalty Germany have conceded in four games so far. The Palermo striker then added a second just before the break (44’). The Germans improved in the second period and Luca Waldschmidt put away another penalty (51’) to level things up. Stefan Kuntz’s team dominated the game, but couldn’t convert their chances, until Waldschmidt (89’) and Amiri (92’) both scored late free-kicks to seal the win and their place in the final. Richter an unused sub FCA man Marco Richter, who played a big role in the group stages with his three goals, had picked up injury before the game and didn’t feature against Romania. The final will take place on Sunday, 30th June (20:45 CEST) against Spain. It will be a repeat of the final two years ago, which Germany won 1-0 in Krakow. Former Augsburg man Dominik Kohr, who now plays for Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga, featured in that game.
