FCA to open 11th Bundesliga season at home
DFL releases 2021/22 fixture list

The Deutsche Fußball-Liga (DFL) announced the fixture list for the 2021/22 Bundesliga season on Friday (25th June). The season will begin the weekend of 13th-15th August, with FC Augsburg facing TSG 1899 Hoffenheim at home.
Head coach Markus Weinzierl's side will also end the season at home, as they host newly-promoted SpVgg Greuther Fürth on Saturday, 14th May (15:30 CEST). FCA's first away game of the season will be against Eintracht Frankfurt on matchday 2 (20th-22nd August), before hosting Bayer 04 Leverkusen the following weekend (27th-29th August).
"The fixture release is always the moment for me in which the excitement for the new season really starts to build. Regardless of our opponents, it's great that we're starting and ending the season at home," said Weinzierl. "We will have a tough run of fixtures to start against Hoffenheim, in Frankfurt, against Leverkusen, at Union and against Mönchengladbach. We will work hard to prepare ourselves during pre-season."
At the moment, it's not yet certain if and when fans will be permitted to attend the games. FC Augsburg will announce information about ticket sales as soon as the authorities permit.
