FC Augsburg have signed Germany youth international Faik Sakar for the start of next season. The 18-year-old attacking player will join FCA on a free transfer when his contract at RB Leipzig expires at the end of the current campaign. FCA have handed him a long-term deal until 30th June 2030.

“Faik Sakar is a very good fit for our sporting and strategic approach, as he is a young player with a great deal of potential. He has chosen FCA because we were able to present him with a clear plan for his development into a Bundesliga player,” said FCA sporting director Benni Weber.

“FCA offer young players the perfect environment to develop step by step. There are plenty of examples of that. I’m convinced that joining FCA is exactly the right step for my development, so I’m very happy to be an Augsburg player from this summer,” added Faik Sakar after signing his contract.

In addition to making one Bundesliga appearance, Sakar mainly featured for Leipzig’s U17s, U19s and in the UEFA Youth League. The right-footed attacker has also represented Germany at U15, U16 and U17 level.
