Elvis Rexhbecaj was born in Gjonaj (Prizren district), which is now in Kosovo. The versatile midfielder moved from Brandenburger SC Süd 05 to VfL Wolfsburg at the age of twelve. Rexhbecaj came through numerous youth teams there before making his Bundesliga debut against Hannover 96 on January 28, 2018.
After two years on loan at 1. FC Köln (20/21) and VfL Bochum (21/22), Rexhbecaj joined FCA in the summer of 2022. The German-Kosovar has signed a contract until June 30, 2026.
