Ruben Vargas and Switzerland began their World Cup qualifying campaign with a win on Thursday evening. The 'Nati' celebrated a 3-1 victory against Bulgaria.
Gladbach's Breel Embolo (7'), Haris Seferovic (10') and Frankfurt's Steven Zuber (13') put the visitors on course for victory early on. Kiril Desporov scored a consolation strike just after the break (46'). Ruben Vargas was subbed on in the closing stages of the game.
Michael Gregoritsch was an unused substitute during Austria's 2-2 draw against Scotland, as was László Bénes, who was on the bench for Slovakia's 0-0 draw against Cyprus on Wednesday.
