Top Facts: FCA travel to Borussia Dortmund

First Team 05.10.2018, 17:18
FC Augsburg face Bundesliga leader Borussia Dortmund in the Signal Iduna Park on Saturday (15:30 CEST) as the team look to build upon their impressive 4-1 home win over SC Freiburg last Sunday. Here are all the facts you need to know ahead of the trip to Dortmund. Dangerous in front of goal: FC Augsburg have scored eleven goals in their opening six Bundesliga matches of the season. This is a new club record for FCA, who previously had only managed eight goals in their opening six matches to a Bundesliga season. Record Bundesliga goal scorer: FCA striker Alfred Finnbogason scored a hat-trick in his first appearance of the season last Sunday. His third strike was his 25th goal for the club, making him the club’s highest ever goalscorer in the Bundesliga ahead of Tobias Werner. Poor history against Augsburg: Borussia Dortmund coach Lucien Favre has only won one of the eight Bundesliga matches he has been in charge against FC Augsburg (three draws, four defeats). This was during his time at Borussia Mönchengladbach when the Foals defeated FCA 1-0 in April 2013. Favre has won average of 0.75 points per match against FCA, the lowest average for the six coach against Bundesliga opposition. Facing former club: FCA’s Felix Götze, who joined the club in the summer from FC Bayern München, has spent time in the Borussia Dortmund academy and he could face his former club on Saturday. Julian Schieber, who also joined FCA this summer from Hertha BSC, played for BVB between 2012 and 2014. He made 35 Bundesliga appearances for Dortmund, scoring three goals. Testing opposition goalkeepers: FC Augsburg have attempted 40 shots on target so far this season – the highest of any Bundesliga team.
