FC Augsburg have strengthened their midfield with the signing of Han-Noah Massengo. The 24-year-old Frenchman joins the Fuggerstädter from Premier League side Burnley and has signed a long-term contract until 30th June 2030. Both clubs have agreed not to disclose the details of the transfer fee. Massengo will wear the number 4 shirt for FCA.

Massengo, like Chrislain Matsima, came through the youth ranks at AS Monaco. At the age of 18, the former France U21 international made the move to England to join Bristol City. After a six-month loan spell at AJ Auxerre, he joined Burnley for the 2023/24 season. Massengo made a total of 107 appearances in the English Championship for Bristol City and Burnley, as well as three Premier League appearances. He was loaned to Auxerre again for the second half of last season, where he featured 17 times in Ligue 1.

Massengo: “The chance to play in the Bundesliga really excites me”

“With Han-Noah, we’ve signed a highly promising and very dynamic midfielder. His arrival gives us even more depth and versatility in the centre of the pitch. Despite being only 24, he already brings plenty of experience and still has great potential for development. We’re looking forward to the future together and wish Han-Noah a great start here in Augsburg,” said FCA CEO Michael Ströll.

“I’m happy to now be part of this great club. Over the past few years, FCA have shown that players can really develop here. The chance to play in the Bundesliga really excites me and I’m excited to get to know the stadium and the fans. My goal is to give my best every day and earn my place in the team,” said Han-Noah Massengo.
