Dion Beljo joins Dinamo Zagreb
Return to his homeland
Dion Beljo is heading home to join Croatian record champions GNK Dinamo Zagreb with immediate effect. Both clubs have agreed not to disclose the terms of the transfer.
The 23-year-old striker moved to Augsburg from NK Osijek in January 2023. He went on to make 45 competitive appearances for the Fuggerstädter, scoring five goals and providing three assists. Last season, the centre-forward was out on loan at Rapid Vienna.
“We outlined a clear path for Dion at the start of pre-season following his loan spell at Rapid Vienna and held several discussions with him,” said FCA’s CEO Michael Ströll. “However, Dion expressed a strong desire to return to his home country. After constructive talks with Dinamo Zagreb, we were able to find a solution that suited all parties and have granted his wish to move. We wish Dion all the best and every success for the future.”
Dion Beljo added: “I’m grateful to everyone at FCA for allowing me to make the move to Zagreb. A new chapter is beginning for me at Dinamo, and I’m excited to be back home. I wish FC Augsburg and all its fans a successful season and all the best for the future.”
