Season in numbers: most challenges won

The 2020/21 season is in the books, so it’s a good opportunity to take a look back at some of the statistical leaders at FC Augsburg. In our seventh and final part of the series, we’re looking at the club’s best tacklers. Five defensive-minded players excelled when it came to winning challenges. 

Felix Uduokhai won 63.9% of his challenges in 2020/21, the most of any player at the club. 

In second is Reece Oxford, with 58.9% of challenges won. The 22-year-old featured either on the right of a back three, or as a centre-back. 

Just behind him is Rani Khedira. The 27-year-old midfielder had a challenge success rate of 57.4% in his final season for the club. 

Raphael Framberger made it through the season without suffering any serious injuries. The 25-year-old academy product impressed and won 53.8% of his challenges. 

Rounding off our top five is Iago. The 24-year-old left-back won 50.0% of challenges he contested in 2020/21.
