Florian Niederlechner and FC Augsburg – a match made in heaven. After seven games, the new signing has four goals to his name. Ahead of Saturday’s game against record champions FC Bayern München, the in-form forward is hoping for an upset.   Florian Niederlechner hit the ground running at FCA with impressive performances and goals from the start. "I feel right at home," said the forward, who has a very simple explanation as to why everything is going so well for him at the moment: "I was here for the whole of pre-season and I’m at full fitness. Aside from that, my teammates and coaches are putting a lot of trust in me." With four goals and two assists, Niederlechner is certainly repaying this trust. Things are looking up for the 28-year-old on a personal level, the same cannot be said for FCA, whose five points from the first seven games of the season are well below par. "We haven’t started like we hoped to," admits Niederlechner. "The team was pieced together quite late – it just needs time. However, we don’t have much more of that – we need to start picking up points and will also be playing to win against Bayern München." Niederlechner: "I can promise that we will go at it full throttle" Florian Niederlechner sees Augsburg’s role as the underdog against FC Bayern as an advantage: "When you’re playing against Bayern, you’ve got no chance – but this is our chance." He is well aware that everything needs to fall into place in order for an upset against the reigning champions to be possible. "We need a good day, we need to be aggressive off the ball and make good use of our transition opportunities," he said, emphasising that the right attitude for this game will be decisive: "We want to show the fans that this team is desperate to win. I can promise that we will go at it full throttle."
