Hertha BSC match reaction

First Team 09.04.2017, 21:00
FC Augsburg were defeated 2-0 to Hertha BSC. Here's the reaction to the match. Daniel Baier: "What am I supposed to say after a game like that? You could see that we weren't playing with confidence due to our situation. But us players have to do better than that and find a way to make amends." Philipp Max: "The first goal for the opponents is just typical of what's been happening to us lately. We cleared the ball from a set-piece, but then Hertha mishit the ball and it hits one of their players in the head and goes in. We have to hold our head high because the next important game comes against Köln, and we have to do better there." Paul Verhaegh: "We were lacking something today. We conceded a goal that came from a set-piece, even though the manager warned us about it. Our confidence just isn't there at the moment, but we have to work hard and find a way to get fortune back on our side. We're aware of the situation we're in but we're not bringing our game to the pitch." Manuel Baum: "We had to fight against all odds - and contend with injuries too. We made all the necessary adjustments, and then Raul Bobadilla got hurt in the warm-up. In spite of that, we managed to field eleven Bundesliga players who were all motivated. Most importantly, we didn't bring enough to the first-half. After the break it got better, but again it wasn't quite enough. We have to clear our heads and then perform how we expect to perform, out there on the pitch." Pal Dardai: "It wasn't a given that we'd perform like we did after three consecutive losses. The first goal was somewhat lucky, but we've had things like that go against us in the past. It was a deserved win, which we were never in danger of giving up, in my opinion."
