Finn Dahmen earns first Germany call-up
Noahkai Banks set for USMNT debut

It is a proud moment for FC Augsburg as goalkeeper Finn Dahmen has been rewarded for his strong performances with a first-ever call-up to the Germany national team by head coach Julian Nagelsmann. The 27-year-old, who won the European U21 Championship with Germany in 2021, is in the squad for the World Cup qualifiers against Slovakia (Thursday, 4th September, 20:45 CEST in Bratislava) and Northern Ireland (Sunday, 7th September, 20:45 CEST in Cologne).
Dahmen, who holds both German and English citizenship, was delighted with his maiden call-up: “Being named in the national team and wearing the eagle on my chest is a huge honour. It really is a dream come true for me.”

Over the past months, Finn has played a key role in our success with consistently strong performances. His nomination is fantastic recognition of the progress he has made at FC Augsburg. We wish him the very best for his time with the national team,” said FCA sporting director Benni Weber.
Born in Wiesbaden, Dahmen becomes the sixth FCA player to earn a call-up to the Germany senior team, following in the footsteps of Uli Biesinger, Helmut Haller, André Hahn, Felix Uduokhai and Mergim Berisha.
Noahkai Banks called up to US senior team
There was also good news for Noahkai Banks, as the 18-year-old centre-back received his first call-up to the US men’s national team. Born in Honolulu and raised in the Allgäu, Banks has come through the FC Augsburg academy since U10 level and is now a firm part of the first-team squad. Having already made five appearances for the United States U20s, he now has the chance to make his debut for the senior side. The USMNT will face South Korea on 6th September in Harrison, New Jersey, and Japan on 10th September in Columbus, Ohio.
“Being called up to the US national team is a huge step for Noahkai and underlines the positive development he’s made at FCA. He’s played for our club since childhood, progressed through every youth level and has now established himself in the senior squad. This nomination is deserved reward for his hard work over recent years and is further proof that our approach to talent development is the right one,” added Benni Weber.
