FCA’s latest signing discusses his first impressions
FC Augsburg have secured the services of striker Mergim Berisha shortly before the summer transfer window slams shut. Following his first training session at the club, we chatted to the European U21 champion about…
…his first impressions from training: “It was a good, high-intensity session. I was able to get to know the lads on my very first day. I’m really happy to be here.”
…his reasons for joining FCA: “I wasn’t getting much game time at Fenerbahce. At my age, it’s important to be playing, and I think I will get the chance to develop further myself here. The coaches and management have put their faith in me. I had already been in Augsburg for two or three days, but there were a couple of things that still needed clearing up. I’m happy that the transfer has now gone through.”
…his new teammates: “Emir Demirovic welcomed me with open arms right away at training, which I’m very grateful for. I already know Niklas Dorsch and Arne Meier from the Germany U21s too.”
…his upcoming Bundesliga debut: “Playing in the Bundesliga has always been a dream of mine. I’m really looking forward to the first game against Hertha on Sunday. We will certainly give our absolute all. Our aim is to put in 100 percent in every match and to win.”
…how he can help FCA: “I think that I’m quite a robust player with a good finish. I want to use those qualities to help the team pick up wins and make the fans happy.
