After securing a valuable point at home to FC Schalke 04 on Saturday, FC Augsburg head coach Manuel Baum wants to secure a victory away at Hertha BSC on Tuesday night (20:30 CET). Baum wants to use the final two matches before Christmas to end the first half of the season on a high. Manuel Baum is taking the positives out of Saturday’s draw at home to Schalke. After four consecutive defeats, his FC Augsburg side were able to secure a point in the WWK ARENA. “I’m glad we secured a point. We played very well for 60 minutes then it wasn’t as strong. I’m also glad that we are now travelling to Berlin. The team wants to show that we can play well for the full 90 minutes.” Overall, Baum has mixed feelings regarding the first half of the season. “I’m personally not satisfied with how many points we have collected so far this season. All of our matches have been very close and we’ve been able to compete with every opponent we have faced. I am fully convinced with our style of play.” FCA travel to Berlin hoping to secure all three points. However, Baum is aware of the dangers the club from the capital possess. “Hertha started the season very well but have struggled in recent matches. They have a lot of quality in their team. Also, if the pitch conditions are difficult in Berlin, then I believe we can secure an away win with our pressing game and transitional play.” Manuel Baum did not reveal anything regarding the squad he plans to play in Berlin. “We have a couple of players currently injured. We will have to wait and see whether or not they are able to play. I’m not revealing anything yet. Fredrik Jensen, Christoph Janker and Kilian Jakob have all been ruled out of the match.”
