Youngster Kerim Yaman signs long-term contract

At FCA for almost a decade

Attacker Kerim Yaman is the latest academy product to commit long term to FC Augsburg, signing a contact until 30th June 2028 as he starts his 10th season with the club.

The 18-year-old joined the Fuggerstädter’s U11 side from TSV Dietmannsried – the same club as his long-term teammate Noahkai Banks – back in 2016. Yaman was also part of the FCA Football School.

Yaman played 15 competitive games for FCA’s U19 team last season, scoring five goals. He was moved up to the U23s during the winter break and went on to appear 12 times for them, netting seven goals and providing one assist. He recorded one hat-trick and two braces in the Regionalliga and has already tasted first-team football in friendlies.

“Kerim Yaman is another academy player who has been on the books here for almost a decade and has now committed to the club on a long-term basis. While still being eligible for the U19s, he got his first taste of senior football last season and, as a pacey attacker, impressed right away with his eye for goal. We now want to continue Kerim’s development and slowly introduce him to the first team,” said Michael Ströll, CEO of FC Augsburg.

“I’m extremely proud that FCA have placed their long-term trust in me and that my future lies here at the club I started at. I want to use the coming season to continue to settle into senior football and continue my development following the clear plan the club have given me. I’m really looking forward to it,” commented Kerim Yaman.
