Tim Breithaupt joins Fortuna Düsseldorf on loan

FC Augsburg have agreed to loan Tim Breithaupt to Fortuna Düsseldorf. The 23-year-old has joined Fortuna, who currently sit twelfth in the 2. Bundesliga, on loan until the end of the season. Düsseldorf also have an option to buy the midfielder. The two clubs have agreed not to disclose the terms of the loan move.
Breithaupt joined the Fuggerstädter from Karlsruher SC in summer 2023, and is under contract with FCA until 2028. He previously spent the second half of last season on loan at Kaiserslautern, where he picked up playing time in the 2. Bundesliga (12 appearances).
“Another loan should keep Tim in the swing of competitive action and allow him to gain some minutes at a high level. Therefore, we’re certain that this loan move is the best option for everyone in this situation. We wish Tim all the best,” said FCA sporting director Benni Weber.
