The bravest team!

Before the game against Borussia Dortmund on Saturday 6th October (15:30 CEST), FC Augsburg midfielder Rani Khedira is feeling confident, especially after their 4-1 win over SC Freiburg and he wants a similar performance against Dortmund. FC Augsburg were able to celebrate their first home win of the season last Saturday after Alfred Finnbogason scored a hat-trick in their 4-1 victory over SC Freiburg. With this victory, FCA can look forward to their game against Dortmund with confidence. Rani Khedira said, “The atmosphere in the team is good right now and we have a lot of fun in training. However, we are all focused on the game against Dortmund on Saturday. It will be a difficult game and Dortmund are top of the table.” Manuel Baum also sees Dortmund as a challenge. “Dortmund are very strong in every position and have lots of quality. They are good, but we also know that we can be good. BVB are at the moment top of the league,” said Baum. Khedira added. “We are the bravest team in the league!” “It is always special to play in front of 80,000 fans in Dortmund even though it is only a regular Bundesliga game. We will go and play how we play every other game,” said Khedira. Manuel Baum wants to go up the table even after their good start to the season. “The season is very long. We take each game as it comes and concentrate on our performance. It is very early in the season so positions in the table can change. We want to show in our game why we deserve to be in our position. Against Bremen, for example we played brilliantly but unfortunately lost. Nevertheless, we are confident for our next game and we want to put in a good performance,” said Baum. Hat-trick scorer Alfred Finnbogason earned the match ball and got the whole team to sign it. Khedira added something extra to his signature. “I signed Alfred’s ball and also left a little smiley face. It is crazy how we can be on the sidelines for so long then come back and score straight away!”
