Striker Raúl Bobadilla will no longer play for FC Augsburg. The Argentinean born player has let FCA know of his intentions to leave the club and his wish to play for his former team Borussia Mönchengladbach. FCA complied after reaching a mutual agreement with Borussia. Both clubs agreed to keep the transfer fee private. “I had a great time at FCA, but I simply couldn’t reject the offer my old club gave me. I hope all FCA fans understand my decision and wish them all the best. It wasn’t a decision against FCA, it was a new step in my career,” Raúl Bobadilla explains his transfer after successfully completing his medical in Mönchengladbach on Thursday. I’m thankful to those responsible at FCA for making this opportunity possible for me and I would also like to thank all FCA fans for their great support over the last few years.” “Raúl Bobadilla has provided a large share of our success in the past four seasons with his goals and his dedication. Therefore, we regret that he has chosen to take this step and that he made it clear to us that he doesn’t see his future with FCA,” says Stefan Reuter, sporting manager at FCA. “We respect Raúl’s decision because we were able to find a solution to suit all parties and we wish him and his family all the best for the future.” Raúl Bobadilla transferred from FC Basel to Augsburg in summer 2013 and made 105 appearances in a FCA jersey. During that time, the Paraguay international scored 29 goals.
