FCA youth product would like to gain match experience
Right-back Raphael Framberger has been with FC Augsburg since he was eight-years-old, longer than any other current player. So it is hardly possible to imagine that the 27-year-old, who has played 84 Bundesliga games for FCA until this point, could ever wear the shirt of another club. But, that is exactly what the Augsburg-born defender will do in the coming months until the 30th June 2023. Ausgburg’s current longest-serving player, who has a contract with FCA until the summer of 2024, will move on loan to second division side SV Sandhausen for half-a-year.
“The decision to leave FCA, even if only temporarily, was definitely not an easy one for me. But, I would now like to once again experience a period where I am on the pitch regularly and getting a lot of playing experience. So, I asked those responsible to allow me this opportunity and I am unbelievably thankful that this has all happened so quickly and uncomplicatedly,” said Raphael Framberger. “Not wearing an FCA shirt will definitely be a change for me at first, but I am looking forward to the new experience and I am certain that the loan will do me good from a sporting perspective.”
“Raphael Framberger came through all the youth teams here at FCA and finally made the step up to the first team. Playing for FCA, as someone born in Augsburg, is very close to his heart and due to this he is someone that the fans can really identify with. As a result, it was obvious for us that we would support Raphael in his wish to move, which he shared with us honestly and openly,” said Stefan Reuter, FCA’s sporting director. “We wish him all the best in Sandhausen, above all getting the match experience that he’s hoping for and are pleased that we will see Raphael in an FCA shirt again from the summer.”
