First team carry out first training session

The  FC Augsburg first team took part in their first training session of pre-season at the WWK ARENA on Tuesday. Head coach Manuel Baum took a short session ahead of the first friendly on Wednesday which will follow a second training session. Manuel Baum was supported by his new-look coaching team. Zdenko Miletic (goalkeeeping coach) and Andreas Bäumler (rehab and athletic coach) were accompanied by Jonas Scheuermann (former technical coach, no assistant coach) and Florian Ernst (assistant coach) to assist Baum. "Jonas Scheuermann and Florian Ernst are well-known faces at FC Augsburg as they have already worked in the club's academy. Both are familiar with the sporting ethics of the club and will bring their skills so as to help Augsburg achieve its aims. I'm pleased to have them on board," said Manuel Baum before training. Internationals miss first training session The players who were involved in international action after the season had finished are yet to join up with the first team for pre-season. They will head to Mals in South Tyrol for the training camp which begins on Wednesday. Manuel Baum is looking forward to the ten day camp: "Above all, we want to work on tactics with the squad and will also focus on teambuilding so that we can integrate the new faces as quickly as possible."
