FC Augsburg’s 50th home win and 200th home goal in the Bundesliga were not the only causes for celebration last Sunday. The 4-0 victory over Hertha also saw Jan Morávek make his 100th Bundesliga appearance in FCA colours. In an interview with FCA Fan-TV, he spoke about his time in Germany and life in the dressing room with his two Czech compatriots.

After Sunday’s home game against Hertha BSC, it was well and truly party time in the WWK Arena as the fans enjoyed four goals, three points and two club milestones. Jan Movárek gave us his take on the occasion: "Every celebration with our fans in the arena is a moment to savour. Recording our 50th home win in the top flight is a special achievement in itself. I think everyone can be proud of this."

Second home, Augsburg

Movárek himself had another milestone to celebrate after he made his 100th Bundesliga appearance for the Fuggerstädters. "I cherish every single day that I’m able to play here," he said, "because I know how hard it can be for a Czech to make the step up to Bundesliga football. I have been in Germany since 2009 and I am very proud of how long I’ve been here." Off the pitch, Jan also feels at home in Germany and in particular in Augsburg. He and his wife would never have thought they would build a second home in Germany, "but that is exactly what has happened and we would be very happy to spend a few more years here," said the 30-year-old.

I cherish every single day that I’m able to play here.

Perhaps the recent addition of compatriots Tomáš Koubek and Marek Suchý to the FCA squad have made Morávek feel even more at home. "It’s nice to be able to speak Czech in the dressing room every now and then. They’re both top lads, but we have to be careful with Tomáš – he needs to keep working hard in his German lessons, even though he is making good progress already," Morávek revealed with a wink.

Looking ahead to Saturday’s away game in Cologne, FCA’s number 14 has called for full concentration: "I think we’re all experienced enough to know that no game in the Bundesliga is a given. We are looking forward to the game and want to extend our successful run."
