Marvin Friedrich moves to Union Berlin
Defender Marvin Friedrich has left FCA with immediate effect and joined Bundesliga 2 side FC Union Berlin. The 22-year-old, who moved from Schalke 04 in the summer of 2016, also has a buy back option by FCA in his contract. The fee agreed between the two clubs will remain undisclosed.
“I was obviously disappointed to not have received a lot of game time at FCA in the Bundesliga and so I have made the decision to move elsewhere,” said Friedrich.
FCA Sporting director Stefan Reuter said: “Marvin picked up an injury shortly after moving to Augsburg and had to spend a long time on the sidelines. As a result we had no choice but accept his wish to move because he is a young player who needs game time to continue his development. We still rate him very highly, and for this reason we will follow his progress with interest and have secured a buy back option in his contract.”
