First Team 19.06.2023, 15:05

Lukas Petkov played in 15 of the 16 games in the second half of last season for SpVgg Greuther Fürth and the attacker had a hand in a goal in each of the last three games. The 22-year-old, whose contract is valid until 30th June 2026 with FC Augsburg, will remain at Fürth next season to continue his development.

“It’s important that I get lots of game time at a high level during this phase of my career. Fürth is therefore the perfect place for me. Things went really well for me at the end of last season and I’m pleased that my loan deal has been extended,” said Lukas Petkov. “Now I need to perform well consistently and help the team with as many goals and assists as possible.”

“We have a lot of faith in Lukas Petkov and his ability. His performances in the second half of the season showed that he is on the right track. We’re confident that another season in the second division will help him and enable him to come back prepared to play for FCA in the Bundesliga. We hope he will play lots of games and wish Lukas all the best for this season,” said Stefan Reuter, board member for sport at FCA.
