Kade: “You can see how hard we worked"
Reaction to the draw in Köln
Despite taking the lead FC Augsburg were forced to share the points on matchday 7 with 1. FC Köln. Here are all the reactions to the 1-1 draw.
Fabian Rieder: “When you take the lead you obviously want to keep it for the whole game, so we’re a bit disappointed. We played a mature game today, but it was the little things that made the difference and decided the outcome. Unfortunately it didn’t go our way, but we’ve picked up four points in our last two games and we’re pleased with our momentum and where we’re at at the moment.”
Anton Kade: “It was a pretty intense game. Playing in this stadium is never easy, especially when they’re on a good run of form. We can be satisfied with a draw – we’ve won four points from our last two games. You can see how hard we worked and that we played well, but we just couldn’t score that second goal. We’re getting chances, but we do need to be more ruthless on the counter attack.”
Sandro Wagner: “It was a really intense and emotional experience for the fans today. There are always aspects that we need to work to improve upon. At the end of the day, I’m really pleased with our young team, who gave a really good account of themselves today. We knew full well that we had to put in a strong performance, and we managed to do that across large stretches of the game. We’ll keep building on exactly that.”
Lukas Kwasniok: “I think a draw was a fair result today. We understood that it would be difficult for us after Augsburg opened the scoring, but we’ve got a great squad with the quality to come back in a game like this, which we showed clearly today. We can be happy with the scoreline, we’ve got another point under our belt – all in all, I’m more than satisfied tonight.”
