Ismaël Gharbi heading to 2025 FIFA Arab Cup

FCA’s attacker Ismaël Gharbi has been called up to the Tunisia national side for the upcoming 2025 FIFA Arab Cup. The tournament will be held in Qatar from the 1st to 18th December and serves as preparation for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco from 21st December to 18th January 2026.
“The tournament offers Ismaël a very good opportunity to gain valuable match practice. Playing time is crucial for young players and we just can’t guarantee him that to the extent that he needs it. We wish him all the best for the Arab Cup and at the AFCON as well,” said FCA sporting director Benni Weber.
Tunisia will take on Syria on Monday 1st December (14:00 CET), before they face Palestine three days later on Thursday, 4th December (15:30 CET). Their final match in Group A is set for Sunday, 7th December (18:00 CET) against the hosts Qatar.
Gharbi will travel to Qatar on Friday, however his fellow Tunisian Elias Saad will not be heading to the tournament. The 25-year-old will stay Augsburg and help his team for upcoming matches against Hoffenheim and Leverkusen.
