Gouweleeuw undergoes successful hand surgery
FCA captain expected to recover quickly
There was good news for Jeffrey Gouweleeuw following successful surgery on a broken hand, with the FCA captain potentially able to play against Heidenheim on the weekend.
After suffering a metatarsal fracture, Gouweleeuw underwent routine surgery at the Arthroklinik Augsburg on Monday. The procedure went without any complications, meaning that the centre-back won’t spend much time sidelined.
The coaching staff will have to wait and see if the Dutchman could yet take part in Saturday’s game against 1. FC Heidenheim. Gouweleeuw has featured in 17 of FCA’s 18 Bundesliga games this season.
