FC Augsburg are continuing to build their squad for the future and, after several recent signings, have agreed a new contract with attacking player Fredrik Jensen. The Finland international (26 caps) has signed a new deal valid until 30th June 2025.

The 25-year-old, who moved to Augsburg from FC Twente in the Netherlands ahead of the 2018/19 campaign, celebrated his 50th Bundesliga appearance in an FCA shirt this season. The right-footer, who has already played in several positions this term, has scored six goals and provided seven assists in 59 games.

“I’m very happy that I was able to extend my contract at FC Augsburg, because I feel very much at home here. We have a great team and I think we have lots of potential. Now we have to work hard together to achieve our aims and continue to compete in the Bundesliga in the coming years,” said Jensen.

“Fredrik Jensen is dynamic and versatile, and an important player for us. Unfortunately, he has been held back again and again by injuries in recent years. This season, however, he has worked very hard to be fit and has played more minutes than in any previous campaign, having featured in 11 of the 15 Bundesliga matches. We are convinced that he will continue this development and that we will be successful together,” said Stefan Reuter, sporting director for FCA.
