FCA sign Phillip Tietz

The forward has signed until 2027

FC Augsburg are delighted to announce that forward Phillip Tietz has signed from the newly promoted Bundesliga side SV Darmstadt 98. The 26-year-old has penned a deal until 30th June 2027. Further details of the transfer will remain undisclosed.

Tietz scored 12 goals and picked up 5 assists last season as he helped Darmstadt secure their promotion to the Bundesliga. In total, the striker has scored 33 goals and made 16 assists in 98 appearances in the 2. Bundesliga. The 26-year-old will take part in training on Thursday and will travel to Austria with his new teammates the following day.

“I’m absolutely delighted that I’ll be wearing the jersey for FC Augsburg. The Bundesliga has always been my biggest goal and I will work hard to prove myself every week at the highest level. Those who know me know that I give my everything in every game and that I don’t shirk a tackle. I also want to build upon my goals tally from last term and help the team to achieve its goals this season,” explained Phillip Tietz. 

Stefan Reuter, board member for sport, is also delighted with the new signing: “In Phillip Tietz, we have not only acquired a physically robust striker who has scored plenty of goals for Darmstadt, we have also signed a player who has led from the front with his passion and commitment. His style of play and strong mentality make him an excellent fit for our young team.”
