Midfielder signs a five-year deal

FC Augsburg have beaten off the competition to complete the signing of U21 EUROs winner Niklas Dorsch. The 23-year-old has joined FCA with immediate effect from Belgian side KAA Gent.

After completing a medical on Thursday, the German signed a five-year contract with the Fuggerstädter, running until 30th June 2026. Both clubs agreed to keep the details of the transfer undisclosed.

"It was impressive how much time the club invested in me. The fit was right from the start, which gave me a really good feeling. Overall, the total package offered by FCA, including the sporting perspective, was key for me. I am really looking forward to joining FCA and playing in the Bundesliga," said Niklas Dorsch, who will wear the No. 30 shirt at the club.

"We're pleased that Niklas has chosen FCA, despite interest from several other clubs, including those playing in Europe. We laid out the path we envision for him at our club over the coming years," said FCA sporting director Stefan Reuter. "His talents on the pitch and his mentality exemplify the FCA DNA that we want our team to have.
