FCA set to face SpVgg Unterhaching in first round of DFB-Pokal

FC Augsburg will face third-tier SpVgg Unterhaching in the first round of the 2023/24 DFB-Pokal, following the results of Sunday's draw.
Unterhaching finished top of the Regionalliga Bayern this past season before winning promotion to the 3. Liga after a two-legged play-off against Energie Cottbus. The team are returning to the third division after two years away.
"SpVgg Unterhaching will take the energy from their recent promotion to the 3. Liga with them into this game. As the Bundesliga side, we want to do our job as the favourites and advance to the next round. It's nice that we don't have to travel far, meaning that several FCA fans will be able to make the trip with us," said head coach Enrico Maaßen about the draw.
The first round of the DFB-Pokal will take place on the weekend of 11th to 14th August, with the exact dates and times of all the fixtures set to be announced in the coming weeks.
