FCA present new ‘Roman’ third kit for the 2025/26 season

"Augusta Vindelicum"

First Team 04.08.2025, 19:07

Following the overwhelming response last year, FC Augsburg are proud to unveil a new and exclusive third shirt design for the 2025/26 season. Under the slogan of “Augusta Vindelicum” – the Roman name for the city of Augsburg – the shirt once again highlights the city’s Roman roots, taking a trip back in time.

“After the ‘Roman’ kit received such a positive reception, we worked closely with our kit supplier Mizuno in order to produce a special third shirt for the upcoming season. The result is a stylish design in black and gold which once again evokes the Roman roots of our city,” said Michael Ströll, CEO of FCA.

Available online from 8th August

The shirt will be available to purchase from Friday, 8th August at 9:00 CEST in the FCA online shop. From Saturday, 9th August at 9:00 CEST, the new kit will be available at the fan shops at the WWK ARENA and the location at Maximilianstraße, and at the VB-Bank at Annastraße from 10:00 CEST. FC Augsburg will wear the new kit for the first time in a pre-season match against AFC Sunderland at the WWK ARENA.

The shirt is available in men’s sizes ranging from S to 4XL, with the women’s edition available in XS to XL. The Roman kit costs €89.95 and the kids’ version (sizes 116 to 164) is priced at €69.95. A long-sleeve version is available in sizes S to 3XL and is priced at €99.95.

The design of the new ‘Roman’ kit

The black shirt is made of recycled polyester and features a fully-embossed front and back inspired by artefacts from Roman antiquity, some of which can still be seen in Augsburg, together with elements of the club’s logo. The FCA badge, along with the supplier and sponsors logos, are all in gold, giving the shirt an elegant look. Gold elements can also be found on the cuffs of the sleeves and on the collar. Each shirt features FCA’s founding year of 1907 in Roman numerals on the back of the neck, with lettering reading ‘FC Augsburg’ also found on the back. One particular highlight is the Roman style print for the numbers and names with a matt gloss effect.

The photoshoot for the new shirt took place in a parking lot next to the WWK ARENA, at the exact location where various Roman artefacts were discovered during construction of the stadium. An archaeological excavation site was recreated in detail using excavated soil and a tent in order to provide an authentic setting for the shoot. Thanks to the excellent support of Augsburg’s municipal archeology department, which provided expert advice, excavation equipment and a replica stone, the club were able to execute their vision to perfection.
