FCA complete the signing of Elias Saad
Contract until 2029
FC Augsburg have signed attacker Elias Saad from fellow Bundesliga side FC St. Pauli. The 25-year-old German-Tunisian put pen to paper on Thursday, signing a contract until 30th June 2029. The two clubs have agreed that the transfer fee will remain undisclosed.
Saad, who can play on both wings and behind the striker, has won three caps to date for Tunisia. The Hamburg-born forward joined FC St. Pauli in January 2023 and his seven goals the following season helped the Kiezkicker win promotion to the Bundesliga. Having spent a considerable part of 2024/25 out injured, Saad made 18 appearances in the top flight, scoring three goals and recording two assists.
Pacy dribbler with an eye for goal
“We’re delighted that Elias has chosen to join us. We believe that he has nowhere near reached his full potential yet. Elias is strong technically, good at dribbling with the ball, possesses pace and is a goal threat too – these are all qualities which will make our attacking play more versatile and harder to stop,” explained FCA’s CEO Michael Ströll.
“My conversations with the club were extremely positive and quickly gave me the feeling that this was the perfect move for me. I’m looking forward to bringing my strengths to an ambitious club like FCA and continuing my personal development. This is my first spell at a club outside the north of Germany, which makes me all the more excited to get on the pitch soon and fight for points together with my new teammates,” said Elias Saad, who will wear the number 26 shirt for FCA.
