FCA bring Yannik Keitel back on loan
Option to buy included
FC Augsburg have brought Yannik Keitel back to the club for another season. The 26-year-old, who initially joined FCA on loan from VfB Stuttgart in the winter, will spend the coming campaign in Augsburg after a new loan agreement was reached. The deal also includes an option to buy.
Keitel can operate in defensive midfield or at centre-back, but injuries restricted him to six Bundesliga appearances for FCA last season.
“Despite his injury problems, Yannik showed during the second half of last season that his character makes him an excellent fit for our team. We remain convinced of his ability and believe that, after completing a full pre-season with the squad, he can make an even greater contribution on the pitch. We’re therefore delighted to extend the loan and head into the new season together,” commented FCA sporting director Benni Weber.
“I felt at home at FCA from day one, so I’m delighted to be continuing my time in Augsburg. The talks with the club went very well and I’m grateful for the faith they have shown in me. Injuries made last season difficult, but I want to give everything during pre-season and make a much bigger contribution on the pitch in the coming campaign,” added Yannik Keitel.
