Bundesliga Dream: Chinese Visit to the Paul Renz Academy

Training under professional conditions and in a Bundesliga environment is a big dream for many young players. Last week, a Chinese U17 select team had the opportunity to take a step closer to that goal at the Paul Renz Academy. As part of the DFL project “Bundesliga Dream,” an international guest team visited FCA’s academy for the fourth time.
The young Chinese talents arrived in Augsburg on Monday evening and received a warm welcome at the Paul Renz Academy on Tuesday morning. The on-pitch program began immediately afterward, focusing on decision-making and recognizing opponents’ movements. In the afternoon, the visitors headed to the WWK ARENA, where they watched the professional team’s training session. They also gained exciting behind-the-scenes insights into the stadium during a guided tour.
A very special highlight awaited the team from China at the stadium: each player received an FCA Fugger jersey printed with his own name.
On Wednesday, another training session took place at the Paul Renz Academy. The U16 coaching staff worked intensively with the select team on transition moments between attack and defense. On Thursday evening, the Chinese guests faced their first real test: in a friendly match, they played against a mixed FCA side made up of U15 and U16 players. The weekend also featured another test match, this time against TSV Schwaben Augsburg’s U15 team.
After several days in Augsburg, the Chinese select team continued its journey to Leverkusen, where it will gain further valuable experience in Germany through additional tactical sessions and training.
