"We know how important the game against Nürnberg is"

First Team 25.03.2019, 16:46
While several FCA players are still out on international duty, preparations for next weekend’s Bundesliga clash have begun in Augsburg. We caught up with head coach Manuel Baum after Monday’s training session to talk about Saturday’s trip to Nuremberg... Manuel Baum on... ... the international break: "Obviously we went into the international break a lot more relaxed thanks to the recent results. The players away with their national teams will get match practice, but the other players did as well in the friendly against Dynamo Dresden. It is true, though, that had the last three games not been as positive for us, the international break would have been a real inconvenience." ... the friendly against Dynamo Dresden: "The friendly was important to me, because it was meant to keep the players in the swing of things. It was especially useful for players like Jeffrey Gouweleeuw and Jan Moravek to get some minutes under their belts again, in order to be able to play competitive games again." ... preparations for Nürnberg: "The real preparations will only begin once all players are back from their international duties. We know how important the game against Nürnberg will be and we know that another three points would leave us in a really good position."   ... Nürnberg’s situation: "We may be higher than Nürnberg in the table, but I would not say that means we go into the game as favourites. Nürnberg have it in their own hands, they still have to play Stuttgart and Schalke and can free themselves against the direct competition."
