Baum: "Left feeling like we could have taken more from tonight"

Post-match reaction to the 0-0 draw against Werder Bremen

FC Augsburg were held to a goalless draw at home against SV Werder Bremen in their final match ahead of the winter break. Read on for all the post-match reaction from both camps.

Alexis Claude-Maurice: "We played well, but just didn't manage to score. We really wanted to win the game. The key thing was that we didn't give up many chances – our defence did a great job. It's disappointing that my goal was disallowed. Now, I'm looking forward to Christmas and to spending time with my family. After that's done, we want to continue working hard in order to improve in all areas."

Elvis Rexhbecaj: "Both sides had their chances today, so a draw is perhaps fair in the end. It's still disappointing for us. We had a goal disallowed and then hit the woodwork twice. We'll take the point and continue working hard after a short winter break. We've got a good team and have managed to stabilise ourselves."

Keven Schlotterbeck: "We played well today and everyone was willing to defend for each other, all we were missing was a goal. I can't really understand why Alexis Claude-Maurice's goal didn't count – we'll take the point, but it leaves a bitter taste. We are heading in the right direction, however: we've picked up four points from our last three games, which is something we can build on."

Finn Dahmen: "I'm left with mixed feelings after this game. We were the better side in the second half and would have deserved all three points. I can't understand why Alexis' goal was disallowed. In my opinion, it's the wrong decision to call that a foul. I'm now looking forward to having a short break and will try to switch off and recover."

Manuel Baum, FC Augsburg head coach: "We came closer to winning today than Bremen. Especially in the closing stages where we had some good chances – overall, we're left feeling like we could have taken more from tonight. We're incredibly frustrated to have had a goal chalked off, because I can't see where there's meant to have been a foul in this situation. Overall, our takeaways from the game are that the team look stable, are able to find space across the pitch and aren't giving up many chances. Seeing how we're able to defend and create chances at the same time, however, means that this result feels more like we've dropped two points, rather than taking one."

Horst Steffen, SV Werder Bremen head coach: "There were chances at both ends today. Augsburg went close first and we then also had some good chances that we could have made more of, had our deliveries been better. We settled in well in the second half, as Augsburg were then able to take over some of the control from the 60th minute or so. They also had chances then to take the lead. The end of the match was a bit chaotic, but we can be satisfied with a draw."
