André Hahn: "There have been lots of ups and downs"

First Team 27.06.2018, 18:44
A familiar face has returned to FC Augsburg. On Sunday, 1st July, 27-year-old André Hahn and the rest of the available squad will begin preparations for the 2018/19 season. During the World Cup, FCA players turn into fans; watching every game and cheering on their favourite teams and players. André Hahn, however, has been otherwise occupied during the tournament: "I’m looking for houses with my wife at the moment. We’re looking for something with a garden, so we can’t follow Germany’s games unfortunately," said Hahn. The Ottendorf-born striker made it into Germany’s provisional squad ahead of the 2014 World Cup and became only the second ever FCA man to play for the national team. Since then, four years have passed, and Hahn has had quite the journey: "I have experienced a lot, played against big clubs and players. I had a bad injury along the way and have even been relegated now. There have been lots of ups and downs, which is exactly why I’ve come so far," Hahn explained. The familiar feeling Hahn received a warm welcome back to Augsburg, despite having left the club once before. "I think everyone was able to understand the step I took back then. I was glad to hear the club was interested in me again, so the decision was an easy one for me," said Hahn. "I kept in touch with the people here; FCA is like a family and everyone knows one another. It’s a nice feeling to arrive somewhere and recognise all the faces – that’s what makes me feel so comfortable here," he added. André Hahn intends to remain grounded at Augsburg and take small steps: "We have a job to do, and that is to stay up. That’s the aim every year. If we go beyond that we can obviously be very pleased about it."
