Usami extends contract and returns to Düsseldorf on loan

FC Augsburg have extended the contract of midfielder Takashi Usami till June 2021. The 26-year old, who spent last season on loan at Fortuna Düsseldorf and helped them to promotion back into the Bundesliga, will return back to Fortuna for another season on loan. Both teams have agreed the undisclosed details about loan contract this week. “I was able to develop greatly last season thanks to my many appearances in Düsseldorf. Therefore I wanted the chance to go back and continue this development and improve myself as a footballer,” said Takashi Usami regarding his desire to play for Fortuna again this campaign. “We followed Takashi’s development very closely last season and were glad that his time there went so well. Thus we could fully understand his wish to return there. We were also convinced that this loan extension makes sense for everybody involved, so we have also adjusted the terms in both contracts,” said Stefan Reuter, director of FCA.
