Sergio Córdova has extended his contract with FC Augsburg until 2025 and will now head out on loan to recently-promoted Arminia Bielefeld until 30th June 2021. The terms of the deal will not be disclosed to the public.

“I feel really good at Augsburg but I need match practice for my development,” said Córdova. “I am very happy about the long-term commitment to the club and I’m thankful that I can continue to play in the Bundesliga thanks to the Bielefeld loan.”

“Together with Sergio we looked for a way that we could tie him down for the long term, but also give him the opportunity to get match practice at the higest level,” said sporting director Stefan Reuter. “With the new contract and the loan deal we have found a good solution.”

As well as Córdova, youth talent Maurice Malone has also signed a long-term professional deal and will spend the 20/21 season on loan at third-division side SV Wehen Wiesbaden.
