FC Augsburg picked up a vital win against FC Schalke 04 in their fight for survival (3-0). Noah Sarenren Bazee played his part, scoring his first Bundesliga goal after coming off the bench. The attacker spoke to FCA fan TV about that moment and the upcoming game against SC Paderborn.

Heiko Herrlich took off Ruben Vargas, who was on a yellow card, for Noah Sarenren Bazee in the 59th minute – which proved to be a genius move as just 15 minutes later the substitute scored a stunning goal to make it 2-0. “It was a quick game, but I adapted quickly after coming on. Everybody could see how hard we fought during the match. It was an extremely important goal for the team,” commented Sarenren Bazee.

Sarenren Bazee: “It was a great feeling”

“Scoring my first ever Bundesliga goal was a great feeling. I was really pleased, but also proud of the team’s performance. It was the perfect day for me,” stated the attacker. “The three points were important for the team and the coach. We have worked hard over the past few weeks and fought hard for the points against Schalke. The three points are even more special after we lost to Wolfsburg.”

Despite the convincing win at the weekend, Sarenren Bazee wants to ensure FCA don’t underestimate their upcoming opponents. “We’re all aware of how tough the next few weeks will be. We will work hard every day and prepare ourselves so that we can give every opponent a game. We definitely can’t afford to make any mistakes and underestimate Paderborn. They will be well up for it,” stated the Augsburger. “We will all have to give 100%. We possess a lot of quality if we all do that. We need to do this every matchday.”

The 23-year-old, who moved to Augsburg from Hannover in the summer, is happy in his new home. “I feel right at home here. I was able to integrate into the team quickly and we have a great side here. We are all play for each other.”
