Samuel Essende has left FC Augsburg to join BSC Young Boys with immediate effect. The clubs have agreed not to disclose the details of the transfer fee.

The 28-year-old striker joined FCA from FC Vizela in June 2024. Essende went on to make 50 competitive appearances for the Fuggerstädter, scoring 12 goals. He featured in 14 Bundesliga matches this season, playing a total of 404 minutes and scoring once.

“Samuel came to us because he wanted a new challenge. Together, we looked for a solution that made sense for both sides, and we found it with this move to Switzerland. We’d like to thank Samuel for his efforts here and wish him every success for the future,” said FCA sporting director Benni Weber.

“I gave my all for Augsburg. From a footballing point of view, I needed a new project where I can keep developing, enjoy my time on the pitch and score goals. I’d like to thank the FCA fans, who were always great to me. I wish the club all the best for the rest of the season,” commented Samuel Essende.
