FCA coach Markus Weinzierl will be without centre-back Felix Uduokhai for the remainder of the season. The 23-year-old, who has played 29 Bundesliga games in 2020/21, has been ruled out with a tendon injury in his ankle.
Felix Uduokhai twisted his ankle in training last week. It was initially decided to treat the injury conservatively, however this didn’t have the desired impact, so he will undergo an operation in the coming days.
“There’s never a good time to get injured, but not being able to help the team in the important remaining games this season is particularly disappointing,” said a frustrated Uduokhai. “Nevertheless, I’m confident that we will pick up the points we need. I will give my all to get fit as soon as possible after the operation.”
“Felix Uduokhai has developed really well this season and has been a key part of our team, so it’s a shame that he won’t be involved in the final weeks. We would like to wish him all the best for his upcoming operation. He’s a positive guy, who always looks to the future,” said Stefan Reuter, sporting director.
