First Team 27.06.2017, 16:29
After four years of service Halil Altintop will leave FCA and start a new adventure abroad. The 34-year-old will join Czech Champions Slavia Prague from next season as to say thank you we have gone through our photo database to look back upon the best times of Halil in an FCA shirt. Born in Gelsenkirchen, Altintop joined from Trabzonspor in the Summer of 2013 and played 128 games for FCA. The transfer was hardly surprising, given that Altintop had played for FCA as a youngster on loan at the beginning of his career. In 115 Bundesliga games, fuve Europa League outings and eight DFB Pokal run-outs, Altintop scored 22 goals for Augsburg. His most memorable moment was definitely scoring FCAs first Europa League goal and writing himself into the club’s history books in the process. The German-Turk put Augsburg ahead in a game they would go on to lose 3-1. After spells at Wattenscheid 09, Kaiserslauten, Schalke 04, Trabzonspor and FCA Altintop will now once again move abroad. Altintop will now ply his trade in the Czech First Division with Slavia Prague. The importance of Altintop at FCA was no more apparent than in his final few games at the end of last season. His experience and goals proved invaluable on and off the pitch as Augsburg secured a seventh successive season of Bundesliga football. FCA wish to thank Halil Altintop for four fantastic years at the WWK Arena and we wish you and your family all the best for the future!
