FC Augsburg academy product Romario Roesch will join Dutch Eerste Divisie side Roda JC Kerkrade on loan for the 2019/20 season. The 20 year-old will hope to secure regular match time during his time in the Netherlands. “I’m excited for my new challenge in Kerkrade,” explained midfielder Roesch. “I’m sure that my year abroad in the Netherlands will help my development both on and off the pitch.” “The Dutch first and second divisions are well known for being able to develop young talent. As a result, this loan transfer makes full sense both for Romario and for FCA,” said FC Augsburg sporting director Stefan Reuter. “We wish Romario all the best of luck this season in the Netherlands.” Roesch joined the Fuggerstädter from SSV Ulm in 2013 and progressed through the Augsburg academy setup. The German received his first professional contract at FCA in the summer of 2018 and trained regularly with the first team last season. The academy product is yet to make his first team debut for FCA but has played regular for Augsburg’s U23s side. Roesch made 28 Regionalliga Bayern appearances for FCA last season, scoring three goals.
