Philipp Max has departed FC Augsburg after five years at the club. The left-back has joined Eredivisie side PSV Eindhoven with immediate effect. FCA agreed to his desire for a transfer. Both clubs have agreed to keep the details of the deal undisclosed.

“After we received the first offer for Philipp, he came to us and said he would definitely like to leave. We then had intensive, but fair negotiations with PSV and found an agreement that worked for us. We had some successful years together, the highlight being our Europa League campaign, and we would like to thank Philipp for his efforts at FCA,” commented sporting director Stefan Reuter.

“I had an intense and great time at FCA and established myself in the Bundesliga here. I’m thankful for the trust that was placed in me as a young player and I’m certain I have paid back this trust over the years. I’m now happy to get a chance to further develop my career,” said Philipp Max.

The left-back joined FC Augsburg in August 2015 and went on to make 156 competitive appearances, scoring 15 goals. He was also part of the side that participated in the Europa League in 2015/16 for the first time in the club’s history.
