Manuel Baum: “Football can be harsh sometimes”

First Team 28.04.2018, 19:56
FC Augsburg seemed like they would run away as convincing winners for a long time on Saturday afternoon, only for Hertha to pull themselves level in the closing stages. “Today’s result feels like a loss,” said Andreas Luthe after the game. Michael Gregoritsch: “We are extremely disappointed to have left the pitch with only a point secured - just like after the first time we played them this season. Our performance completely deserved a win. It’s a shame that we couldn’t see it through to the end.” Andreas Luthe: “We led 2-0 for a long time, completely controlled the game and were the better side for a long period of the game. It’s really frustrating that we couldn’t come away with all three points. Hertha scored their first ten minutes before the end and that really gave them momentum. Today’s result feels like a loss.” Manuel Baum: “We are very disappointed, because this is the second time this season that we’ve let a win slip against Hertha Berlin. We put in an extremely good away performance, but sometimes football can be harsh on you. We controlled the game for 83 minutes, so it’s annoying.” Pal Dardai: “We started well, but then FCA managed to adjust themselves to cause us some issues. We were happy that the deficit was only one as we headed into the break. The second goal made things even more tough for us to get something from the game, but our first goal came at an opportune time. It was a good showing of resilience from my team, but other than that it was a performance to forget.”
