Mads Petersen completes loan move to Zurich

FCA have confirmed further transfer activity as the window draws to a close. Mads Petersen has joined Swiss first division side FC Zürich on a loan deal up until the end of the season. There is no option-to-buy clause included in the agreement.

The move is subject to a medical, which will take place in Zürich on Friday. Mads Pedersen took part in the U21 European Championships with Denmark last year, before making the switch to Germany from FC Nordsjaelland in the same summer. The youngster has made two Bundesliga appearances for FCA, as well one in the DFB Pokal.

“It’s important for me and my development that I play as regularly as possible,” Pedersen said about his short-term loan move. “At FC Zürich I will get the chance to earn lots of match practice over the next six months. I’m really happy that we could come to this agreement.”

“We see Max Pedersen as a key part of our team in the long run,” said sporting director Stefan Reuter about the move. “But at this stage in his career, as a young player, it’s important that he gets enough playing time to aid his development. Therefore this loan move, in a German-speaking environment, makes perfect sense for us so that he can develop both from a sporting point of view, as well as linguistically.”
