Seven FCA players are currently away on international duty. Ermedin Demirović and Ruben Vargas have both impressed while playing for their countries.

Switzerland and Ruben Vargas shocked Spain on Saturday night in Zaragoza. Former Dortmund man Manuel Akanji got the winner from a Vargas corner, who was substituted after 79 minutes. Switzerland are next in action on Tuesday, 27th September (20:45 CEST) at home to Czech Republic.

Fellow FCA attacker Ermedin Demirović was in action a day before. He scored the only goal of the game for Bosnia and Herzegovina against Montenegro, finding the net from close range in injury time of the first half from an Edin Dzeko assist. Bosnia have already won Group 3 in Division B going into their final game against Romania on Monday, 26th September (20:45 CEST).

Maximilian Bauer didn’t feature for Germany U21s in their 1-0 loss to France, nor did Aaron Zehnter, who was an unused substitute for Germany U19s in wins over Armenia (5-0) and Belarus (5-1). Robert Gumny also sat on the bench for the whole game in Poland’s 2-0 defeat to the Netherlands.

Carlos Gruezo played 67 minutes in a goalless draw against Saudi Arabia, while Fredrik Jensen came on in the 57th minute for Finland against Romania (1-1). The final round of Nations League games will be completed on Tuesday.
