Gregor Kobel made his FC Augsburg debut on Saturday and it didn’t go as well as he may have wanted. Kobel started in goal as FCA fell to an unfortunate 2-1 home defeat to Fortuna Düsseldorf. “We are really, really disappointed. The aim was to win at home,” said the Swiss U21s international. FCA attackers Ja-Cheol Koo and Dong-Won Ji could both feature for their country after South Korea won their group with a perfect record. Bahrain reached the last sixteen as one of the best third placed teams in the group stage. Rest day to start the week: Following a training session on Sunday, the FCA players have been given a rest day on Monday to recuperate from Saturday’s defeat. The first training session of the week will take place on Tuesday morning at 11:00 CET. The team will also training on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday before travelling to Mönchengladbach. FCA will face the Foals in BORUSSIA-PARK next Saturday at 15:30 CET. FCA eSport success: FC Augsburg’s eSports team secured their first team victory in this season’s Virtual Bundesliga on Saturday. FCA secured two victories against Arminia Bielefeld and only falling to a narrow defeat in an Xbox match. FC Augsburg are now in 9th place in the Virtual Bundesliga table.
