New signing Iago undergoes a knee operation

FC Augsburg will be without new signing Iago for the coming weeks. The left-back, who signed this summer from International Porto Alegre, has undergone an operation on his left knee. The operation went well according to the doctors, however he will still miss the first six to eight weeks of the new season. Philipp Max will not be out for as long as Iago, with the 25-year-old expected to return to first-team training in a week’s time. Both players will miss out on tomorrow’s final friendly against FC Bologna (Saturday, 3rd August, 15:30 CEST).
